Trust by Ginger Lazarus

Directed by Bridget Kathleen O’Leary

After the breakdown of civilization, an impromptu community takes shape. Combining their skills to protect and sustain themselves, the members hold their own until a new arrival challenges their interdependence. Surviving the apocalypse without your thyroid medication is difficult enough—taking care of each other might be the hardest thing of all.

A dark comedy about disability, chronic illness, and the end of the world.

Ginger Lazarus is a playwright, screenwriter, and teacher. Her plays Burning and Matter Familias have been produced by Boston Playwrights’ Theatre; she has also worked locally with Lyric Stage Company, Central Square Theater, Fresh Ink Theatre, Theatre@First, Company One, and more. Among other projects, she is currently developing a play about the women’s suffrage movement in collaboration with the National Parks Service and Plays in Place. She served as a script consultant for Debra Granik’s highly praised feature, Leave No Trace; other screenwriting credits include two award-winning shorts for the Boston 48 Hour Film Festival and Mary, a film based on her stage play.
