Actors and Directors

In addition to our EPAs required by Actors’ Equity each season, we attend the annual Boston Area Theatre Auditions and announce additional opportunities via social media and through AEA, as needed.

Each spring, we love seeing dozens of local artists on our stage in the Boston Theater Marathon! If you would like to volunteer to act in or direct a Marathon play, you will need to inquire with the individual producing companies—each of the 50 different producing companies casts and produces its own play. Producing companies participating in the BTM are listed on our website in late February/early March. And of course, if you are a playwright, you can also submit a play to the Marathon.

We also bring in many actors and directors to collaborate on new work development, readings, workshops, and classes, depending on the needs of our graduate playwriting students and visiting artists. The best advice we can give here is: get to know your local playwrights! We follow their lead.

Designers and Stage Managers

We are always happy to get to know new designers and SMs, especially those who connect to our Curation and Production Values. If this is you, please send your resume and website to Artistic Director Megan Sandberg-Zakian.

Overhire

We are always looking for technicians with experience in theatre lighting (electrician, hanging, cabling, and focusing lights), stage carpentry, scenic painting, props or crafts work, and stitching or altering costumes. If this is you, please send a resume or description of your relevant experience to Technical Director Wesley Scanlon.
